Orphan, also known as Demis in normal life, became very popular in the Netherlands in the nineties and made numerous TV appearances on Dutch TV. Demis scored a hit with the cd single: Ga Dan in the Nineties. His singing carreer came to an end when his voice broke.
During his singing career in the nineties, Demis was a real fan of hardcore music (now called Early Rave). He bought some vinyl turntables at the age of 14 and learned himself to mix vinyl records in his bedroom while watching Thunderdome VHS tapes. A little later he started a drive-in show with a cousin.
After doing this for a while (while also still singing), his voice broke and Demis stopped with singing. He decided to start doing what he dreamed of: become a dj. Under the artistname "Demis H" he had his first gigs in a known old club in Tilburg: The Talk of The Town. When the years went by he played at many clubs & party's in Holland, Belgium and even in France. For 14 years he played & produced records as "Demis H & many projects like: El Parentado's/Cousins Inc./Terriax/Sherwood" in the harddance scene. Released music on several labels like: Explosive Records (Explosive Car Tuning) / Dynamik Traxx (own label) / Stomper / Zoo / Sur+ / Loud & Clear / Re-Loaded / Strictly Jump
He also was a resident dj in clubs like: Zino Tilburg / Club X Tilburg & Epic Tilburg.
Beginning 2014 he decided it was time for a change. He switched his artist name to "Orphan". A new strong name with a personal background story. Meanwhile, he appeared at several big party's & festivals in the harddance scene like: Decibel Outdoor Festival, Pussy Lounge, Supersized Kingsday Festival, Dream Village Festival, Intents Festival, Promised Land Festival, Harmony of Hardcore Festival, UP!, Supersized Freestyle Special, Vendetta, Outrageous, Daylight Festival etc etc...! Releases on Pussy Lounge Music (B2S) & Basic Movements Records are a fact. Focussed on Freestyle music, mixing and producing what he likes, no boundries!
